Financing nature conservation
EU programmes and instruments for Central and Eastern European accession countries
Carlos Sunyer & Mihály Végh (Eds)
ECNC-European Centre for Nature Conservation, 2000
The environment will be one of the most complicated issues to be dealt with during the process of enlargement of the European Union. Nature conservation is part of the environment package, and thus accession countries have to treat it as a priority area.
This publication, a manual, was prepared as part of the project ‘Providing information on financing nature conservation in CEE accession countries with the new opportunities in EU financial instruments’, in close cooperation between ECNC and TERRA Environmental Policy Centre, Spain. It aims to provide up-to-date information to EU accession countries on the possibilities of EU funding for nature conservation purposes, with a focus on LIFE, SAPARD, ISPA, enlarged PHARE and Interreg.
