Food and health the focus of Tilburg Nature Market 2016
‘The harder it rains, the more visitors turn up’ was the unlikely motto of the day.
Tilburg Biodiversity Platform, in which ECNC is a partner, organized the 6th annual Nature Market on Sunday 29 May. In spite of the rain, 3,500 people visited the market at the Piushaven in Tilburg (the Netherlands). Together with StadsTuinderij, NGOs, small businesses, and gardening companies presented a wealth of products and information.
This year’s theme was food and health. Displays by the 40 stallholders ranged from biological pizzas, vegetable and fruit boxes, plants, various beers, honey, olive oil, tapas, and bio-cosmetics, to information about food wastage, organic market gardening, the Common swift, and green energy. Children had fun making nest boxes and bee hotels.
The Nature Market continues to grow each year and to attract more and more visitors.
