OpenNESS: the results are starting to take shape
The 2nd OpenNESS Annual Meeting took place in Barcelona from 20-24 April 2015 and was hosted by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The aim of the meeting was to review interim results and discuss the next steps in implementing the integrated research design. A special focus was on presenting the 27 OpenNESS case studies, which provided the consortium with valuable insights and inspiring experiences. Another focal issue was the first lessons learned from the application of the OpenNESS methods and conceptual frameworks, as well as the state and development of the Ecosystem Services Reference Book.
Emphasis was given to the development of Oppla, the platform that synthesizes the tested methods and tools as well as the case study results on ecosystem services.
The annual meeting took place in the beautiful Casa Convalescència, a jewel of modernist architecture and centrepiece of the historic grounds of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
