Finalists of the 2016 Natura 2000 Award announced
Every day, thousands of Europeans invest time, energy and knowledge in protecting nature. The European Commission is again recognizing these achievements through the Natura 2000 Awards for outstanding services in management and conservation of the EU’s network of protected areas.
The European Commission has announced the 24 finalists of the 2016 Natura 2000 Award.
The Jury is currently deciding on the winners of each of the five category awards. The winner of the Citizens’ Award will be chosen by the public. You can cast your vote until 8 May 2016.
The winner in each category – as well as the winner of the Citizens’ Award – will be announced at the high-level ceremony on 23 May 2016.
We are pleased to see that ECNC Network partner Natural England is a partner in one of the finalist projects: The Lyme Bay Fisheries and Conservation Reserve, UK.
