Over two thousand visitors at lively nature market in Tilburg
ECNC is one of the partners of the Tilburg Biodiversity Platform, which organized the 5th Nature Market in Tilburg (the Netherlands) on Sunday 31 May 2015. This annual event features presentations by nature and environmental organizations, green companies, beekeepers, farmers and sustainability organizations. The market was located near the Piushaven, almost in Tilburg city centre.
This year some 2,500 people attended the market, despite the wet, windy, cold weather. ‘That’s also nature’ was the general opinion. Boat trips enabling people to discover the fauna and flora of the harbour’s banks were very popular. There were opportunities for people to exchange their plants and plant cuttings, and to buy tomato and lettuce plants. Children explored the harbour waters, and young and old built nest boxes and bee hotels to take home.
There was plenty of food, honey and fair trade coffee and tea. And a lady with a guitar entertained and warmed the public with her songs.
